Play Date!

Our friends Mandy and Adam had a baby girl named Aubrey on January 7th. Isn't she adorable?

We had our first play date with Aubrey last week and it was lots of fun! Katie of course couldn't get enough of baby Aubrey and just kept looking at her and saying "baby sleeping" and then she would push the swing a little and say "wee" (luckily Mandy didn't mind). We wanted to get a picture of the kids together, so we posed Katie and Kellen next to Aubrey in her swing. It is pretty much impossible to get a picture of both kids looking at the same time and Kellen just didn't know what to think. He kept looking at me and at then Katie, but he wouldn't look at the camera. Katie was actually doing a nice job of smiling and Aubrey was just as content as could be! She slept right through all of the chaos going on around her.

I'm sure there will be many, many more play dates with Aubrey in the future!

6 Month Pictures

Kellen was 6 months old on February 15th, so we took him to get his 6 month pictures taken. He was such a happy boy and did a great job! Here are a few of my favorite pictures:

This is a classic Kellen pose - he always has his fingers in his mouth! I'm pretty sure he'll be getting his first tooth any day now.

We had a picture taken of Katie standing like this when she was 6 months old, so we decided to do the same thing for Kellen. I think it's pretty cute!

Here is Katie's 6 month pictures in the same pose as Kellen. I can't believe she's going to be 2 - it's crazy how fast they grow!

Valentine's Day

We went to the Mall of America on Valentine's Day and had a great time! Katie got to go on the carousel for the first time, so that was very exciting for her! Here are Katie and daddy on the carousel for the first time. Notice the crazy looking dragon/horse thing that he chose for her to ride on.

The second time Katie went on the carousel with mommy. Mommy picked a more traditional horse for her to ride on. Isn't it convenient that both mommy and daddy are hidden behind Katie in the pictures? She loved the carousel - when she rode with mommy she had a big smile on her face the whole time and kept saying "fun" over and over again.

Kellen loved the Mall of America too. He just hung out in his stroller and looked at everything going on around him. Isn't he adorable?

Our Little Buddy

I just thought I'd show you what Kellen has been up to lately. He loves to lay in his gym and bat at the toys. He thinks tummy time is okay, but loves to roll from his tummy onto his back to play with his toys.

He also loves his big sister. Katie says "boo" to him and he thinks it's hilarious. She also calls him "buddy" just like mommy and daddy and loves to give him kisses. You can see how much he likes it.......

He loves to watch Roxie, and he still loves his Exersaucer.

Since the rice cereal, he's had peas and green beans and liked them both (he really enjoys putting his hands in his mouth and rubbing the vegetables all over his face), so hopefully he will continue to like all the new foods he tries!

Future Hockey Player?

Kellen has torticollis, which basically means that the muscles on one side of his neck are not as strong as the other side. This caused him to turn his head to the left a lot more often then he turned it to the right. We've been taking him to physical therapy to work on strengthening the muscle for a few months and he's doing great! Because he was always sleeping on his back with his head turned to the left, the back left side of his head became flat. In order to correct the flatness, he is wearing this helmet, called a Cranio Cap, 22 hours a day. Doesn't it look like a little hockey helmet? As you can tell, it doesn't phase him at all! He's still as happy as ever!

Our New Friend

Daddy and Katie made a snowman over the weekend and Katie loves him! He is in the backyard facing in the living room window, so every morning she gets up and asks to see "man". It was a lot of hard work, so she had to take a rest and eat some snow after helping daddy roll the snowballs.

Here she is with her snowman. Isn't he cute?

And here she is right away in the morning checking to make sure he is still there. What are we going to do when he melts?

Oh Baby!

Katie is turning into a little mommy. When I sit in the rocking chair to feed Kellen, Katie comes and sits on the ottoman and we read books. She holds the book so I can see it to read it to her and then she turns it around so she can look at the pictures. The other day she decided to read to her baby, so she sat her in a chair and held the book so the baby could see it. I thought it was so cute!

Then she decided to read to her dolly "Rina" (short for ballerina). Do you think Rina is close enough to see the pictures?
