On The Move!

Kellen started crawling at nine months and he LOVED being able to explore! He did the army crawl for a few weeks and then started his "real" crawl around 10.5 months. Katie loved it when he started crawling because he was more fun to play with. Although she didn't like it quite as much when he started playing with her toys!

Visit with Great Grandma

Great Grandma and Harry came back from Texas in May and we were very excited to see them! Great Grandma hadn't seen Kellen since he was about a month old, so he had changed a lot! The kids loved exploring Great Grandma's house, and finding "toys" to play with. Mommy was a little stressed out trying to make sure they didn't break anything! We were able to visit Great Grandma and Harry every couple of weeks until they headed back to Texas for the winter. We're looking forward to seeing them again in a few months!

Updates

I haven't been very good about updating our blog, so I'm going to try and catch up by posting a few highlights that have taken place since my last update. Then hopefully I'll be a little better about updating our blog, but I can't promise anything :)

Haircuts!

Kellen had his first haircut in May, he was around 9 months old. Katie had her second haircut at the same time (she was just over 2). Kellen didn't know what to think - he just sat there and stared at himself in the mirror and chewed on the cape.

Katie wasn't quite so laid back - she cried at first, but luckily they had a TV, so it kind of took her mind off of it.

Here they are with their new haircuts! Aren't they cute?!

Katie's 2nd Birthday!

On Katie's actual birthday daddy let her have a cupcake after lunch. I'm not sure if she ate any of the cupcake, but it looks like she had a good amount of frosting. Then we went to Chuck E Cheese for dinner. She was OBSESSED with the singing Chuck E Cheese. We had a hard time getting her to eat her pizza because all she wanted to do was stand in front of him and stare at him. Here she is waving to him.
There were quite a few other people there celebrating birthdays and every time they sang "Happy Birthday" to someone, Katie thought they were singing to her. So in this picture she is clapping at the end of the song. Doesn't Kellen look thrilled?

Katie even played a little Skee Ball!

Here is a video of Katie dancing with Chuck E Cheese. I'm sorry it's sideways (I couldn't figure out how to turn it), but I just had to post it because every time I watch it I can't stop laughing.

After dinner we stopped at Dairy Queen and got Katie an ice cream cone. Thank goodness Roxie was there to help clean up! All in all, I think she had a pretty fun birthday!

Katie's 2nd Birthday Party!

It's only been 4 months since Katie's 2nd birthday.... I guess it's time to post the pictures! We had a Sesame Street theme and I attempted to make cupcakes that look like the characters. In case you can't tell, it's Oscar the Grouch, Elmo and Cookie Monster.

Katie still loves it when everyone sings "Happy Birthday". I think we all sang it to her 3 times because everytime we were done, she would clap and say "Again?"

Yummy!

Kellen was such a good boy all day - he even wore a party hat!

Katie got this fun art desk from Grandma Kate & Grandpa Tom. She loved it and went right to work coloring in her new coloring book with her cousins Isabel & Autumn.

One of Katie's favorite gifts was this giant ballerina that she got from Mandy, Adam & Aubrey. The straps on the ballerina's feet go around Katie's feet so she can dance with the ballerina. Katie would not put her down and even brought her outside to play with her and her cousins!

It was a very fun party!

8 Months Old!

Here are a few of Kellen's 8 Month pictures. It's getting harder and harder to get him to look and me and stop playing with the paper! Notice the bite that he took out of the corner of the paper (I did manage to somehow get the paper out of his mouth). Katie was a huge help in getting him to smile for the pictures. He's not quite crawling yet, but he's getting close! He is also officially done wearing his cranio cap and his head is perfectly round now!

Happy Easter

It's only been almost 3 months since I updated our blog.........not too bad :) So I guess I'll start with Easter. Brett was off for Easter this year, so we went to both grandparent's houses. We started out at Grandma and Grandpa H's house where Katie hunted for Easter baskets for both her and Kellen and some eggs with candy in them for everyone. She had a great time and Kellen just sat and watched her every move. Uncle Mitch and Auntie Sybil also brought an Easter basket for Katie and Kellen, so they were very spoiled! Here she is getting the Easter baskets from Auntie Sybil.

They also gave her a pinwheel which she thought was the greatest thing EVER!

Here's our little buddy, just as happy as can be!

After G & G H's we went over to G & G K's house where Katie got to participate in another Easter egg hunt! Katie had so much fun walking around the yard looking for eggs and putting them in her basket!

Kellen sat and watched the action with Nanny. Cousin Autumn came over to pay him a visit and show him how much she loves him! Autumn is so sweet and she loves babies!

Here is Katie hanging out with her cousin Isabel - she loves to be with her cousins!

This is the best picture that I got of the two kids together - it's getting to be impossible to get them both to look at me at the same time!

The kids were EXHAUSTED at the end of the day and they both fell asleep on the way home. I love how Katie still has her hat on!

Hockey Helmet and Funny Face

Brett took some pictures of Katie in his hockey helmet when she was about 6 months old and we decided to do the same thing with Kellen last week. How cute is he?

And here is Katie's 6 month picture in the helmet. Too cute!

After we took Kellen's pictures we tried the helmet on Roxie (trying to get Katie to try it on, but she wasn't going for it).

Kellen has also been making a new face lately and I just had to post a picture. He puckers his lips and blows out his nose - it's so funny!!!

Another Play Date!

We had another play date with Aubrey and this time she was awake, so Katie was very excited! Mandy and I realized that Aubrey and Katie have the same outfit, so we decided to try and get some pictures of them together in their matching outfits. Aubrey didn't know what to think of Katie!

Then we tried to get a few pictures of Kellen and Aubrey. Kellen was so funny - he kept touching Aubrey's ear and it looked like he had his arm around her! Too cute!

This is the best picture that I got of the three of them together this time. They had so much fun!

7 Months Old

Kellen is now 7 months old and it's getting harder to take his monthly pictures due to his interest in the sign. I was able to take a few good pictures before he grabbed the sign thanks to Katie (which explains his big smile and why he's not looking at the camera). Then he grabbed the sign and it was all over.

I guess we'll see how it goes next month!

Trip To The Zoo

The weather was actually really nice last weekend, so we decided to take the kids to the zoo. Kellen wasn't all that impressed, but Katie sure was! She absolutely loved seeing all the animals in person and especially liked the monkeys. Here are a few pictures from our trip:

She has been talking about all of the animals and how much fun she had all week! We can't wait until the weather is nice so we can go to the zoo again!
